Homes For Sale In Buford
Buford is a wonderful place to live in.
More than a century ago, Algernon Sidney Buford came from Virginia to become president of the Atlanta and Richmond Air-Line Railroad. He served as president for two decades and worked in politics and legal services. In 1872, this area of Georgia became a town named after Buford. Nearly 25 years later it became a city. Unlike residents in other nearby small towns, those in Buford had visions for the future and were interested in education and business. As a result, Buford grew quickly and became the “City of Many Factories” and “the New York of Gwinnett,” according to an article in the News-Herald in 1902.
